Rug in the Grass, San Vicente Blvd, 2025
Oil on linen
16 x 20 in

On my morning walk I discover a toupee resting on my neighbor’s lawn. It feels natural, like the grass is wearing a disguise. Whose head is now lighter? Why did they leave it behind? I didn’t realize people wore toupees anymore. When I walk by in the afternoon, it’s gone.
