Lace Anklet, Cloverdale Ave, 2025
Oil on panel
8 x 10 in
I find a single, tiny sock on the sidewalk. It has delicate lace detail around the ankle. I think about its twin, still warm on the foot it was meant to adorn. This sock speaks of love and devotion to new life. I imagine its absence is still unknown, its falling unwitnessed, lost to the indifferent pavement.
